Desert Houses

The middle of the Arabian desert – a place hostile to any life form. The desert house colony, however, brings a paradox to life, offering hospitality in an unlivable area. The 6-unit underground house uses traditional passive cooling methods, such as thermal mass through surrounding sand, cross ventilation and wind catchers, as well as vegetation and water ponds. At the same time, it brings its inhabitants close to the astonishing environment.
